Best Practices for Posting Your Puppy Listing

Check out the following tips for creating the ideal listing for your puppy on Lancaster Puppies.

Components of a Listing

Here are four things that you’ll want to make sure to include in your puppy listing.

Pictures

One of the most important components of your puppy listing is the photos. We recommend taking as many pictures as possible--at least three. Try to get shots of the puppy from all angles so potential buyers have an accurate picture of what the puppy looks like. Make sure the photos are centered, crisp, and clear, as blurry photos could turn people away. Additionally, you may choose to add videos to your listing to help them stand out even more.

It’s also helpful to include a picture for each of the puppy’s parents if possible, or at least its mother. This way, the buyer will have an idea of what their puppy will look like once it’s grown.

Descriptions

When describing the puppy on your listing, it’s important to provide plenty of information that could answer any questions a buyer might have. However, keep the description relatively short and to the point.

One of the main things that buyers like to know about their future puppy is the pup’s personality and temperament. It can be hard to pinpoint a puppy’s personality because they are so young, but try and describe each puppy to the best of your ability. A little information about the disposition of the parents can also go a long way in helping people understand what kind of puppy they’ll be getting.

Health Information

Including health information in your puppy listing is key. Indicate whether or not your puppy has had any vaccines or treatment from a veterinarian, or if the puppy will require a vet visit after adoption. Be sure to have any vet records on hand in case a buyer asks to see them.

Contact Information

Contact information is required for all puppy listings on Lancaster Puppies, so make sure that you have an easy, reliable way for buyers to reach you. In today’s day and age, many people prefer to send a text message rather than make a phone call. That said, if you have text messaging capabilities, be sure to note in your listing that buyers can text you for more information.

Puppy Listing Guidelines

Lancaster Puppies aims to make the puppy listing process as easy as possible. However, there are a few rules to be aware of:

  • You may only advertise one puppy per listing. Your listing cannot include pictures of other puppies for sale. If you have a whole litter of puppies, please purchase individual listings for each puppy.
  • Be sure to enter your puppies into the correct and appropriate breed category. Purebred categories are reserved strictly for purebred puppies.
  • The photos in your listing cannot contain any watermarks, URLs, etc. unless they represent the seller’s information.
