Healthwise, Shibas are generally sturdy but can suffer from allergies, which are typically manageable with proper care. Their waterproof coat sheds moderately throughout the year and heavily during spring and fall. Regular brushing, especially during shedding seasons, keeps their fur healthy and minimizes loose hair.
